Battle for Jerusalem Makes Jewish
News
Countless battles have been fought to capture her and claim her
religious glory. Now, under Jewish sovereignty, a different battle is
being waged in the Israeli capital—a battle for her soul, says
Brooklyn-based filmmaker Liz Nord, creator of the forthcoming documentary
'Battle for Jerusalem.' Newspapers across the Jewish world learned
about the project when the Jewish News Service picked up this
article.

TED! TED! TED!
Yes, it is worth three exclamation points to announce that I am officially
a TED-talker. Watch a video of my talk here: "What
Jerusalem Can Teach About Fighting a Culture War." I
will presented among a fantastic lineup of speakers at TEDxDumbo in
Brooklyn, NY. The dayís event focused on the future of cities, and I
discussed Jerusalem Unfiltered
and how to fight a culture war by turning friction into creative
possibility. I am beyond thrilled to join the ranks of some of the worldís
most exciting and inspiring visionaries
who have spoken at past world-renowned TED events.

Talk, Talk, Talk
The first quarter of 2012 was full of great conversations,
as I was invited to speak and engage in several interesting forums.
I spoke to the Bronfman Youth Fellows about being part of the Jewish
cultural scene, emceed a lively discussion about religious-based gender
discrimination in Israel for the New
Israel Fund, and--most fun of all--read about meeting some of my
punk heroes at Vol.
1 Brooklyn's raucous "Greatest 3-Minute Punk Stories Ever"
event.

I'm on a Mexican Radio (If by "Mexican,"
you mean "Internet")
Episodes of two radio shows that I was recently a guest
on are now available online. On Rusty
Mike Radio in Jerusalem, we talked everything from the President’s
conference, to the Jerusalem Film Festival, to summer action in the
city, to–of course–Battle for Jerusalem and Jerusalem Unfiltered.
I also had a lot of fun as a guest on the D.I.Y. episode of the Mike
& Judy Show straight outta Brooklyn!

Liz on "New Directions in Jewish Film"
I was honored to be part of the lineup of speakers and
events celebrating the San
Francisco Jewish Federation’s Centennial this month, discussing
“New Directions in Jewish Filmmaking” with the wonderful
Peter Stein of the SF Jewish Film Festival and filmmaker Sam Ball. It
was exciting to be in my home-away-from home and to share the spotlight
with some other incredible people, like one of my favorite authors,
Michael Chabon, and NY Times columnist David Brooks.
