That Time I Moderated a Talk About Moses with a Flaming Lip
It’s not very often that I get to lead a conversation with indie rock heroes that checks almost all of my niche interest boxes: indie music, film, and rethinking Jewish tradition through a cultural lens and yet, here we are.
Just in time for Passover, Jewish innovation engine Reboot has released a modern day score to Cecil B. Demille's 1923 classic silent film The Ten Commandments! Featuring Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), Steven Drozd (Flaming Lips) and Scott Amendola, the momentous new score follows Moses out of Egypt and into the Dessert where he receives the Ten Commandments. On March 30, I had the pleasure to moderate a candid Reboot Ideas Conversation with the artists and Reboot CEO David Katznelson, who exec-produced the project.
